Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau Held An Experience Exchange At Tegbareed College.

(Tahsasa 2/2018) During the experience exchange, Ato Dinaol Chala, Deputy Head of the Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, attended and said that career and technical education has been provided in middle and secondary schools since the last academic year by jointly deciding on what issues to focus on to effectively manage the learning and teaching process.

The Deputy Head of the Bureau said that the experience exchange will enable the provision of career and technical education in a comprehensive manner and the implementation of the overall work in a planned and effective manner, and that it will also create the capacity for schools to focus on practical work alongside theory. He also explained that there is a need to expand such exchanges to develop colleges that are ready to provide vocational education training to students who are leaving school after completing formal education.

In his welcome speech to the participants who came to take part in the exchange, Ato Tesfaye, Dean of Addis Ababa Tebbared Polytechnic College, stated that technical and vocational education is crucial for the development of the country and said that we should work together to ensure that students are successful in technical and vocational education.

Ato Getachew Talema, Director of Curriculum Development and Implementation of the Education Bureau, recalled that the exchange office has repeatedly supported and monitored the need to work on the delivery and assessment system of practical education. He said that Tebbared Technical and Vocational College will be a place where schools can gain great experience in achieving the goals of vocational education, and that we will gain great experience in the delivery and assessment methods of practical education.

The Director of Afan Oromo Curriculum of the Education Bureau, Dr. Beleh, said that practical education is a great field of education where students have the opportunity to identify their talents and enrich their country with their knowledge. He said that the presentation and visit of the education leaders who came to take part in the experience exchange will enhance our experience and inspire us to do more.

During the experience exchange, the Deputy Dean of Training and Academic Affairs of Addis Ababa Tegbared Polytechnic College, Ato Dareh Getachew, gave a presentation on the college’s training delivery, the goals set by the college in the training process, and the organization based on the experience exchange checklist provided by the office.

Secondary Education Vice Principals, Sub-Divisional Curriculum Coordinators and Team Leaders, and Afan Oromo Curriculum Team Leaders participated in the exchange and visited the practical teaching rooms at the college and were briefed by experts.
